Vilnius is Lithuania's baroque-architecture capital, a UNESCO-listed Old Town city that has quietly built one of the Baltics' strongest fintech, gaming, and outsourced-production sectors. Studios and tech offices cluster around the Old Town, Užupis (a self-declared artists' republic within the city), and the modern business district across the river in Šnipiškės. The city's low cost relative to craft quality has drawn increasing Nordic and Western European production work, and English proficiency among younger professionals runs high even as Lithuanian remains the primary daily language.

Cepelinai (potato dumplings stuffed with meat), cold beet soup (šaltibarščiai) in summer, dark rye bread, and a growing craft beer scene define the food culture. Užupis, the self-declared artist republic across the river from Old Town, has its own mock constitution and a genuinely bohemian, mural-covered character worth building a location day around.
