Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 2026-05-04

The short version

Some links on The Booking Agency are affiliate links. If you click one and book a hotel, buy a product, or sign up for a service, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same. Affiliate revenue is one of the ways the platform stays free for talent and free to browse for clients.

Which links are affiliate links

Outbound links to merchant websites are tagged with the HTML attribute rel="sponsored" wherever an affiliate program is in place. Browser extensions and developer tools that read this attribute will show you which links earn us a commission.

Internal links between pages on bookingagency.io are never affiliate links.

Networks we work with

  • Travelpayouts (marker 671111): Booking.com, Hotellook, Aviasales, Klook, Tiqets, Viator, GetYourGuide, and other travel-vertical merchants.
  • CJ Affiliate: hotel groups (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, Wyndham, Vrbo) and a small number of retail partners (Walmart, Target, Tripadvisor).
  • Awin: select retail and lifestyle merchants. The Awin MasterTag is loaded site-wide so eligible outbound links can be detected and credited.
  • Direct partner programs: Airalo, NordVPN, Trip.com, DiscoverCars, and a small set of brands not on a major network. These use the merchant's own referral parameters.

Editorial independence

Affiliate eligibility never determines whether a venue, hotel, or service is listed on this site. Listings are surfaced based on relevance, ratings, and verified availability. We do not accept payment in exchange for a higher position in search results, a Featured badge, or inclusion in a city guide.

When a listing happens to point to an affiliate-eligible merchant, the outbound CTA is rewritten to attribute the click to us. When a listing points to a non-affiliated independent business, the link goes through unchanged with no attribution.

Cookies and tracking

Affiliate networks set first-party or third-party cookies on the merchant's domain after you click an outbound link, so the merchant knows the click came from us. We do not set affiliate cookies on bookingagency.io itself. Our use of analytics and consent tooling is documented separately on the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy pages.

FTC compliance

This page exists to satisfy the US Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 requirement that material connections between a publisher and a merchant be disclosed. EU-equivalent disclosures (UCPD Annex I, ASA CAP Code, and AGCM rules) are also covered by the rel="sponsored" tagging plus this page.
