Data sources and attribution
Where our place information comes from
Many pages on bookingagency.io describe places: cities, airports, venues and more. Some basic facts come from open data projects that let anyone reuse their data when the right credit is given. This page lists those sources and the credit each one asks for.
GeoNames
Place data (population, coordinates) partly from GeoNames (geonames.org), licensed under CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0). Modified by bookingagency.io.
OpenStreetMap
(c) OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL. See openstreetmap.org/copyright.
OpenStreetMap is a map built by volunteers. We use it for facts such as addresses, opening hours as entered on the map, and details like wheelchair access or outdoor seating. Volunteers can be wrong or out of date.
How we check data
- We state a fact only when a source says so.
- Where a page has a field and we have no source for it, it says "Not verified". It never says "No". Not knowing is different from the answer being no.
- Open data can contain mistakes. Please confirm important details, such as accessibility or opening times, with the place itself before you travel.
- Pages are for information only and are not legal, medical or financial advice.
