Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is the Adriatic's most photographed walled city, a limestone-paved old town whose preserved fortifications made it a global filming location after Game of Thrones brought international production crews and tourism at once. Photographers, wedding planners, and event producers work almost entirely within or just outside the Old City walls, a UNESCO site with strict, well-established filming permit processes. The city's tourist season (roughly May to September) brings dense crowds that shape both scheduling and cost; production outside peak season runs markedly smoother and cheaper.

Fresh Adriatic seafood (black risotto, grilled fish, oysters from nearby Ston), Dalmatian prosciutto, and rustic olive oil define the food scene. The Old City walls are walkable in about two hours and central to almost every location plan. Cruise ship arrivals can flood the old town with day-trippers with little warning; scheduling around ship-arrival calendars helps. Tipping runs around 10%.
