Salary: $45,435 - $73,638 (annual)

Reporting to the Project Based Contract Management Manager, the Housing assistant serves as the liaison for Leased Housing’s Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) programs with direct responsibility for: 1. On a daily basis, report to assign PACT/Trust developments to assist with Section 8 Program related activities. 2. Confirm on site vacancies and HQS readiness with property management (PACT and Trust). 3. Assist PACT/Trust development staff and section tenants with Section 8 inquiries, when needed. 4. Provide property management staff Section 8 training. 5. Establishing effective working relationships with internal units and outside agencies. 6. Analyze and prepare monthly PBV status reports for the LHD Senior Director. 7. Promote positive customer service experience by assisting residents and staff with questions and service needs in a courteous and efficient manner. 8. Provide daily reports on site visits and follow up actions for LHD. 9. Other duties as required by the Project Based Management Unit for PACT and Trust Developments. Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or An associate degree or sixty semester credits from an accredited college and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in housing management at a development or developments containing at least 150 apartments, performing any one or a combination of the following duties: interviewing applicants; determining eligibility; gathering and evaluating information to resolve complaints; collecting rents; and/or resolving tenant-related problems; or A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in “1” above; or A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described in "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate college credit may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of satisfactory full-time experience. However, all candidates must have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent.

Preferred Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the HUD regulations for the Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) 24 CFR 983 and the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Programs 2. Advanced computer skills; experience using Siebel, Microsoft Excel and Word 3. Excellent detail orientation and follow-up skills 4. Ability to interface with all levels of staff. 5. Excellent written and communication skills.
