Refund Policy
Effective Date: July 20, 2026 Version: 6.1
This Policy explains refunds and how disputes are handled on bookingagency.io, operated by Tara Trade International LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, doing business as The Booking Agency ("we", "us", "our").
It covers two different things: booking payments, and Platform subscription payments. They have different rules.
Part A - Bookings
1. How booking money is held
Bookings are made and paid through the Platform. The Client pays the displayed price. We collect that payment as the Talent's agent, hold the funds, and release the Talent's share after the booking is completed. A total fee of 15% is deducted from the Talent's side; nothing is added on top of the price for the Client.
2. The committed date
Cancellation outcomes are measured against the committed date:
- Event work: the event date.
- Project work: the agreed project start date.
If a booking is rescheduled by agreement, the new date becomes the committed date and this schedule applies to it.
3. Cancellation by the Client
| When you cancel | Refund to Client | Paid to Talent | | --- | --- | --- | | More than 14 days before the committed date | Full refund of the Talent's fee | Nothing | | 14 days to 48 hours before | Half | Half, as a kill fee | | Less than 48 hours before | Nothing | The full amount, less the 15% fee | | After the committed date | Half | Half |
Our 10% platform commission is retained in every Client-initiated cancellation. It is not refunded, because the booking service was provided.
Amounts are calculated by the Platform at the moment of cancellation, from the committed date. The table above is the schedule; the exact figures shown to you before you confirm are the ones that apply.
4. Cancellation by the Talent
If the Talent cancels a confirmed booking, the Client is refunded in full, including the platform commission. The Talent receives no payout for that booking and the cancellation is recorded against their account. Repeated cancellations may lead to suspension or removal from the Platform.
5. Rescheduling
Where both parties agree, a booking may be rescheduled at no cost. No money moves, no refund is issued and no cancellation is recorded.
Rescheduling is limited to two changes per booking. The parties have 7 calendar days to agree a new date; if they do not, the proposal expires and the booking remains exactly as it was. A change that only one party wants is a cancellation, not a reschedule.
6. Completion and objections
For event work, the booking is complete once the event has taken place.
For project work, the Talent marks the work delivered and the Client then has 7 working days to raise an objection. If no objection is raised in that time, the work is treated as accepted. After completion, the Talent's payout is released within 5 to 7 working days.
If the Client raises an objection, the payout is frozen and we review the booking before any funds move. We do not judge the scope or quality of the work itself - that remains between Client and Talent - but we will not release held funds while an objection is open.
7. Exceptions
There is no weather clause, no illness clause and no exception list. Rescheduling exists precisely so that these situations do not need one. In rare cases where rescheduling is impossible, we may cancel a booking with a full refund to the Client and no penalty to the Talent. That is a decision we make, not an entitlement either party can claim.
Part B - Subscriptions
8. Scope
This part covers Platform subscription payments only. Subscriptions are separate from bookings; cancelling a subscription does not cancel a booking, and cancelling a booking does not refund a subscription.
9. 14-day refund window (initial subscriptions)
If you subscribe to a paid tier for the first time and are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase by emailing [email protected]. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
The 14-day window does not apply to: (a) renewals after the initial subscription; (b) subscriptions reactivated after a prior cancellation; (c) accounts suspended or terminated for Terms of Service violations.
10. Cancellations and proration
After the initial 14-day window, subscriptions are non-refundable but can be cancelled at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not prorate refunds for partial months or unused portions of annual plans.
11. Involuntary termination
If we terminate your account for violation of our Terms of Service, no refund is due, regardless of time remaining in the billing period.
12. Platform service interruptions
If the Platform experiences a prolonged outage (continuous unavailability exceeding 72 hours within a single month, excluding scheduled maintenance), active paid subscribers may request a prorated service credit by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of the outage.
Part C - General
13. Chargebacks
Please contact [email protected] before initiating a chargeback so we can attempt resolution. Chargebacks filed without prior contact may result in immediate account suspension pending review and may reduce your eligibility for future refunds.
14. How to request a refund
For bookings, use the cancellation option on the booking itself so the correct schedule is applied automatically. For subscriptions, email [email protected] with your account email, the charge date and amount, and a brief reason. We will respond within 5 business days.
15. Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and EEA
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. This section explains how that right interacts with the schedule above. It applies to consumers only, not to bookings made by a business, and it applies in addition to the cancellation schedule in Part A, never instead of it, whichever is more favourable to you.
Bookings for a specific date or period. Where a booking is for the provision of a leisure or entertainment service on a specific date or during a specific period, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply. This is the standard exception for date-specific leisure services, and it is the same reason event tickets and hotel rooms are not returnable. The cancellation schedule in section 3 applies instead.
Other service bookings. For a consumer booking that is not tied to a specific date or period, you may withdraw within 14 days of the booking being confirmed, without giving a reason, by contacting [email protected].
If you asked for the work to begin during that 14-day period, and you confirmed at the time that doing so means you lose the right of withdrawal once the service is fully performed, then: you may still withdraw while the work is only partly done, and you will owe a proportionate amount for what has already been delivered; once the service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal is spent.
Where withdrawal applies and is validly exercised, you are refunded in full, including our commission, within 14 days of us being informed.
Subscriptions. The 14-day refund window in section 9 is offered to all subscribers regardless of location and is separate from this statutory right.
