Architect

Salary: $78,740 - $113,256 (annual)

Hours: Full Time- 35 Hours Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 Only candidates who are permanent in the Architect title, reachable on the Open-Competitive List (Exam #3040, #5009, and #6012) may apply. The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings seeks an Architect. The selected candidate will serve as a special assistant and coordinator for the Architecture Unit, and assist with development and maintenance of guidelines, tracking tools, onboarding tools etc. to enhance consistency of unit workflow and work product; the development and maintenance of internal and external presentation tools and outreach materials; the research, development and implementation of technical standards, frameworks, toolkits, and other best practices to foster consistency and incorporate emerging best practices, learning, and innovation; and other high-level professional assistance as needed. The Architect may also assist in project scoping, scheduling, design review tasks resolving project issues, site visits, and reports. Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). Minimum Qualifications

• A valid New York State Registration as an Architect. Current New York State Registration as an Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment. 2. In addition to above qualification requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project. 3. Preferred Skills

Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of full-time experience as a project team member on several projects (small to medium-sized). In addition, candidates should possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Experience with sustainable design concepts and LEED requirements, NYC Building Codes, and Energy codes is preferred. BIM and AutoCAD proficiency and LEED AP are preferred.
