The Governors at Norton Free Primary School are seeking to employ a permanent buildings supervisor to start before October half term or as soon as possible thereafter following the retirement of our current post holder. You will be responsible for the day-to-day caretaking, security, maintenance and general upkeep of the school site, ensuring the school remains safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

We are seeking a reliable, punctual, hardworking and committed individual with experience of providing comprehensive site support including security, health and safety, routine maintenance, contractor management and grounds management. You should be highly dependable with a strong work ethic and a proven ability to maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments for pupils, staff, visitors and colleagues. Confident working independently and as part of a team, with excellent practical skills and a flexible approach to day-to-day responsibilities.

KEY DUTIES

  • School caretaking and premises management
  • Site security and key holding
  • Opening and securing the school site
  • Complete regular Health & safety checks and ensure compliance
  • Carry out Fire alarm testing and Routine site inspections
  • Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs
  • Identify and report potential maintenance and safety issues.
  • Manage Contractors attending the school management and control site access
  • Grounds and external area maintenance
  • Set up rooms for school activities and events/Move furniture and equipment as required
  • Facilities management including line managing cleaners
  • Stock control and stores management
  • Deliveries and logistics
  • Documentation and record keeping
  • Customer service and communication
  • Health & safety awareness
  • Teamwork and independent working
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Strong practical skills
