Role Summary


Group Portfolio Controlling serves as a key link between Group Product Planning, Commercial Solutions and Finance across TRATON and its brands. We provide a Group-wide financial perspective on product portfolio and commercial decisions, translating complex financial and market data into actionable business insights.


Our team supports strategic portfolio decisions, product and market prioritization, pricing and brand positioning, and the allocation of resources across the Group. Through fact-based financial assessments and close cross-functional collaboration, we contribute to maximizing Group value while balancing profitability, strategic objectives and business risks.

Job Responsibilities


As a Group Portfolio Controller, you will act as a financial business partner to Group Product Planning and Commercial Solutions and contribute to strategic portfolio and commercial decision-making across TRATON and its brands.


  • Develop and align Group-wide profitability analyses across product segments, brands and relevant markets, creating transparency on financial performance and value potential.
  • Assess product roadmaps and commercial plans from a financial perspective, identifying profitability gaps, white spots, risks and value opportunities based on relevant financial KPIs.
  • Support regional and country sales strategies with fact-based financial insights, profitability assessments and a holistic Group perspective.
  • Conduct financial trade-off and scenario analyses across product and development alternatives to support prioritization and resource allocation decisions.
  • Support the development of Group-wide approaches for brand differentiation and price positioning, linking customer value, competitive positioning, pricing and profitability.
  • Translate complex financial, product and market data into actionable insights and management recommendations, enabling fact-based portfolio decisions.

Collaborate closely with Group Product Planning, Commercial Solutions, Strategy, the TRATON brands and other Finance functions to align assumptions and drive a consistent Group perspective.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, finance/controlling, product management, commercial management or strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of product and commercial economics, with the ability to assess profitability, pricing, business cases and financial trade-offs.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate complex financial, product and market data into actionable business insights and management recommendations.
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional and cross-brand environment, challenge assumptions and align different stakeholder perspectives towards Group objectives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex financial topics clearly and confidently across different management levels.
  • Proven knowledge of the truck / automotive industry or any of our brands is a strong merit.
  • Proactive and structured working style with a high degree of ownership, including the ability to represent the department's interests and perspectives across the organization.

You will join a highly collaborative team within Group Finance at TRATON, working closely with Group Product Planning and Commercial Solutions Planning. We act as strategic finance partners, supporting portfolio-related decisions that shape the future direction of the business. Our work goes beyond traditional controlling, combining financial insight, business understanding, and strategic thinking to drive value creation. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions and contribute to key discussions influencing the Group’s product and portfolio strategy.
