We are looking for an ambitious and inspirational person with a passion for making a difference and enabling children to succeed, to take on the role of leading English at our ‘good’ Infant and Nursery School. The role involves a 3 day a week class-based responsibility, in a job-share with an existing member of staff but time will be given for leading English across the school. We are an inner-city Infant and Nursery School. We pride ourselves on the fact that we place children and relationships at the centre of everything we do. The successful candidate will: Be caring and compassionate Supporting development of teaching and learning of English throughout the school and nursery Be a strong and passionate leader, who is committed to providing the highest outcomes and standard of provision. Monitor and observe teaching and learning across the school to improve and develop practise and feed back to staff Analyse data to identify trends and set targets Have a strong pedagogy in primary education Have a love of English, teaching children to read, write and be confident orators Enjoy working as part of a successful team Be a confident teacher who strives for excellence Want to make a difference and have impact on school improvement The successful candidate will need: A clear understanding of how young children learn At least 3 years’ experience of working in Primary Education The ability to work well with children, colleagues and other professionals A commitment to child development and equal opportunities An understanding of the law around keeping children safe (safeguarding) Excellent organisational and time management skills Excellent communication skills Patience and a good sense of humour
