Copy Link € 3.724 - € 6.825 32 • 36 hours per week Locatie AMC fixed-term React until: 20 September 2026 The project In this project, you will develop predictive AI models that support clinically actionable outcomes for psychiatric disorders such as depression and schizophrenia. Working closely with (neuro)scientists and clinicians, you will translate cutting-edge AI methods into solutions for real-world clinical challenges. Your research will span a broad range of modelstopics, including deep learning, causal machine learning, distributed learning, unsupervised learning, foundation models, natural language processing, and explainable AI. A key challenge is that psychiatric research often relies on relatively small datasets, that while biomedical data are limited, and that data are subject to strict privacy requirements. You will work with a rich variety of data sources, including clinical data, (unstructured) electronic health records, MRI, time-series data (such as EEG, functional MRI, speech, and video), omics data, and mobile sensing. Amsterdam UMC offers access to extensive large datasets for model development and diagnostics, while also providing a unique opportunity to develop AI models for actionable problems for methods that remain effective in the small-data settings that are common in psychiatric research.
