We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Technician to help with the smooth running of the Science Department. Supporting the full Science Department, the role will work mainly at the Sleaford Campus but flexibility is required to work at our Ruskington campus on occasions too.

The post is full time, working 37 hours per week over 39 weeks per year. Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3:30 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs.

Working alongside the existing Senior Science Technician based on the Ruskington Campus, duties will include day to day line management and supervision of the Science Technician team; maintaining and cleaning equipment; pre-class preparation for displays and exercises; trialling practical activities, ensuring equipment and materials are available for staff and that work areas are kept clean and tidy. A willingness to be flexible, good communication skills and an interest in science are required. Current and relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation is considered essential.

You will be required to have experience of working in a similar role and some basic knowledge of science taught in the classroom. The ideal candidate will also hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

Previous experience within education would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

If you would like to join a very supportive team in an Academy of enthusiastic and friendly dedicated staff, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Should you have any questions or wish to arrange an informal visit to the Academy, you can contact us by email to or by calling 01529 301162. Informal visits are welcomed to all roles and can be offered outside of core school hours where this would be helpful.
