We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to be a Teaching Assistant at Yeoman Park Academy, working two days per week on a Monday and Tuesday. The academy offers high quality, inclusive education for young people aged 3 - 18 who experience complex learning difficulties. The academy is committed to child centered learning and works closely with parents and carers to prepare pupils for the next stage of their lives.

The opportunity

The successful candidate will support pupils with a wide range of severe learning, physical or behavioural learning difficulties and require specific knowledge and a high level of competence in communication and interpersonal skills. You must be qualified in a relevant childcare qualification to at least NNEB, NVQ3 (or equivalent), and previous experience of working within SEN is desirable.

Essential:

  • Display commitment to protection and safeguarding of children and young people

  • An understanding of specific learning difficulties and or physical impairments.

 Desirable:

  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these
