About Caffè Centrale Matera

Located in the heart of Matera, Caffè Centrale provides a grand yet welcoming atmosphere perfect for focused work. The interior boasts high ceilings and comfortable seating, with several larger tables ideal for spreading out. While the coffee is traditional Italian, strong and aromatic, they also offer a good selection of pastries, sandwiches, and light lunch options to keep you fueled throughout the day. The crowd is a mix of locals and tourists, with a consistent buzz that remains moderate during most working hours. Weekday mornings are generally quieter, offering the best conditions for deep work. Power outlets are available, especially along the walls, though you might need to scout for them during peak times. It’s a great spot to experience Matera's daily rhythm while staying productive.
