As Calculator Electrical Engineering at Steegman, you will be responsible for independently drawing up accurate cost estimates for non-residential projects. You will assess tender documents, drawings and technical specifications and translate these into reliable budgets, quotations and workable solutions. You will work alongside project managers, work planners and engineers, and will play a key role in creating designs that are both technically and financially viable. Drawing on your experience, you will identify opportunities, contribute ideas for optimisation and play an active part in developing smart and sustainable turnkey electrical engineering solutions. Your tasks: - Independently preparing cost estimates, budgets and quotations for electrical installations; - Analysing and checking drawings, specifications and terms of reference; - Determining the costs of materials, equipment and labour, and incorporating these into cost price calculations; - Requesting and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; - Advising project teams on alternatives, potential savings and technical optimisations; - Contributing ideas for improvements to the costing process. What do you bring to the table? - A completed MBO4 or HBO course in Electrical Engineering or a similar subject; - Proven experience as electrical engineering calculator in the field of building services or installation engineering; - A thorough knowledge of electrical installations and relevant standards; - Accuracy, analytical skills and a structured approach to work; - Good communication skills and a proactive attitude; - Experience with cost estimation software (e.g. Syntess or similar) is an advantage.
