Salary: $44,545 - $66,000 (annual)

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WITH DURATION OF 18 MONTHS AND POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION. The Healthy Homes Unit, reporting to the Vice President of Healthy Homes, oversees operationalizing environmental hazard compliance efforts. The Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation is responsible for managing mold assessment and remediation contracts, ventilation modernization contracts, performance management, providing quality assurance, and providing technical assistance to support Public Housing Operations for mold remediation at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). NYCHA is the nation’s largest public housing provider and is home to more than 400,000 residents across New York’s 5 boroughs. The Critical Repair Initiative Coordinator will be a member of the Mold Remediation Unit of the Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation collaborating with NYCHA team on critical repairs that have been outstanding for over a year. The CRI staff will be responsible for case managing, coordinating, facilitating, and streamlining repairs and will be expected to independently conduct unit history reports, monitor workflow progress to ensure repairs are completed promptly, identify and communicate roadblocks and communicate with residents throughout the repair process. The responsibilities of the Critical Repair Initiative Coordinator will include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Case manages sensitive repairs. 2. Using maximo, tableau, repairs ledger to conduct unit history overview. 3. Coordinate with various NYCHA departments to ensure cases are progressing promptly. 4. Communicate with Interdepartmental Units to ensure work progress. 5. Facilitate resident communication. 6. Document efforts and updates on the Zendesk platform. 7. Conduct periodic site visits to developments as needed. 8. Escalate any discoveries that may cause potential delays in real time. Additional Information 1. NYCHA residents are encouraged to apply. 2. Minimum Qualifications Qualification Requirements 1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or 2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with any of the following: Microsoft Offices, Zendesk. 2. Extensive understanding of NYCHA. 3. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 4. Knowledge of property management operations, processes, and structure. 5. Ability to work in a high-volume and high-pressure environment.
