This role focuses on assessing electromigration risk, current distribution, and electrothermal effects to detect reliability concerns early in the design cycle. The engineer analyzes current density, voltage drop, and parasitic effects to confirm that designs meet reliability and performance targets. By combining accurate physical modeling with thorough design verification, the role supports high-quality, manufacturable products and helps achieve first-time-right silicon. Your Responsibilities Your main responsibilities will include the following, depending on project needs and customer requirements: - Perform electromigration analysis on IC and power-device layouts. - Evaluate current-density limits and identify reliability risks in metal interconnects. - Analyze stress-induced voiding and metal migration under operating conditions. - Identify design weaknesses and recommend improvements to design teams. - Develop flows and methodologies for power, electromigration, and current-density analysis. - Assess the electrothermal reliability of interconnects and devices. - Carry out parasitic-aware design verification and physical validation. - Define and validate design rules related to electromigration reliability. - Work closely with design, layout, and technology teams to improve robustness. - Prepare technical reports that document design risks and mitigation strategies. - Support failure analysis and reliability qualification activities. - Develop AI/ML-based approaches to verify and analyze new RF/analog designs for improved performance.
