At Parson Street Primary School, we have a new position open for an Administrator to join a friendly administrative team, providing an efficient point of contact within our school office. Hours of work will be Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-2:15pm and Friday 8:00am-2:00pm. This is a fixed term job linked with the long term absence of a colleague. This is provisionally until the end of December 2026, with a potential for extension. Job overview You’ll be responsible for overseeing the reception, answering calls and dealing with face-to-face enquiries, signing in visitors and ensuring all visitors are appropriately monitored, as well as providing general clerical and administrative support and maintaining school records. We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful applicant. Job requirements Hold GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) In English & Maths High level ICT Skills, with advanced skills in relevant areas (spreadsheets/excel type systems) including all MS office packages and information management systems High standard of communication skills, evidenced by experience of dealing with colleagues, clients/customers, the general public at all levels to assess and solve operational procedures Ability to manage time effectively, organise and prioritise personal and team workload to ensure team objectives are fulfilled. Excellent customer service skills Able to communicate well, both orally and in writing, with others, including young people and other adults.
