Senior Analytics Engineer - Looker / LookML (Multi-Tenant BI)

Role summary

We are looking for a senior data / analytics engineer specialising in Looker (LookML) to lead the modelling and presentation layer that turns raw Google Cloud data into governed, self-service insight for our clients.

The heart of the role is running a complex, multi-tenant Looker environment. You will maintain a LookML layer that uses dynamic properties and user attributes to route each user to their own BigQuery dataset - keeping this shared "single model, many tenants" architecture secure, scalable and fast.

Required skills & experience

• Looker / LookML - expert-level: building complex models and managing Looker instances.
• Version control - managing branches and repositories for models, dashboards and metrics.
• Advanced SQL - strong command of SQL for Google BigQuery, including window functions and nested / repeated fields.
• Multi-tenancy - managing data access and security filtering for multiple external clients within a single BI platform.
• Data governance - using Liquid variables and user attributes in Looker to drive dynamic, context-specific content.
• User administration - managing Looker groups, roles and users, including custom attributes per user.
• GCP - a general understanding of Google Cloud resource structures, enough to interpret the incoming data correctly.

Experience requirements

• 3+ years working with LookML.
• 5+ years working with SQL.
• 3+ years working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• 4+ years working with Google BigQuery.
