Overview
Theater Play: Casting "Oldie Moldie Ozzie," a play presented completely in rap, apart from a short scene which has two short songs in it. It was written especially for GJ Kalic's Taking Liberties Theatre Company by Gunduz Kalic. Some of the original members of the independent company have been involved in theatre practice for five decades in the UK, Canada, and Australia. The team are now fervent lovers of rap and its capacity to express so much through beats, rhymes and flow with characters interacting using rap throughout the play. It is fun, challenging, demanding, and so satisfying to be working on this very special piece: the story is of two ageing artists, whose lives can not escape the constant combat they have with each other - competing, accusing, and could it be loving? It is both tragic and comic to behold a marriage so locked in battle. It is part of the offerings of the Anywhere Festival, playing in Brisbane in the third week of May. Casting 1 role
