Our client is a technology company specializing in smart building and energy management solutions. Their platform enables organizations to monitor, control, and optimize building operations, including HVAC, lighting, power, and other building systems, improving energy efficiency and operational performance.

 

Important: Australian time zone, working hours from 8:00 AM UA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and mentoring the development team, providing technical guidance and supporting engineers' professional growth;
  • Collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and other stakeholders to define technical solutions and project roadmaps;
  • Driving technical design and architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security of the solution;
  • Planning and coordinating development activities, prioritizing technical work, and managing delivery risks;
  • Ensuring adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and quality assurance processes;
  • Identifying and resolving technical blockers, supporting the team in troubleshooting complex issues;
  • Contributing to estimation, sprint planning, and release planning activities;
  • Promoting continuous improvement by introducing new tools, technologies, and engineering practices.
  • Writing code, conducting code reviews, creating and maintaining technical documentation

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of commercial experience in Back-End development, including experience in a Lead or Technical Lead role;
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript;
  • Strong experience with AWS Cloud services;
  • Expert knowledge of Express.js and NestJS frameworks;
  • Strong experience with MongoDB;
  • Experience with Jest for unit and integration testing;
  • Strong experience in REST API design and implementation;
  • Experience working with streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ);
  • Experience with Swagger for API documentation;
  • Strong understanding of system design, including scalable and distributed architectures.
  • Experience of working with a high volume of data
  • Experience with MQTT;
  • Upper-Intermediate level of English;

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with ClickHouse;
  • Experience with DynamoDB;
  • Experience working with time-series data;
  • Experience in IoT projects;
  • Front-end development experience is a strong plus.
