About the Role

We are looking for a Middle QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript) to join a long-term product team developing a high-load digital platform.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining automated test suites, validating complex business workflows, and ensuring product quality across web applications and APIs. This role requires strong JavaScript automation skills and close collaboration with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers.

Working hours (Armenia time):

  • 12:00-21:00 or
  • 13:00-22:00

Important: We consider only candidates who are full-time employees of our partners. This is a long-term engagement with no defined end date. At the moment we are collecting candidates, and the project start date has not yet been confirmed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve automated UI and API tests using JavaScript.
  • Maintain and extend existing automation frameworks.
  • Design, execute, and maintain regression test suites.
  • Perform API testing and validate backend functionality.
  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
  • Investigate defects and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and release activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Required Skills

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of commercial QA experience.
  • Strong commercial experience with JavaScript.
  • Solid experience in test automation.
  • Experience with UI and API test automation.
  • Basic knowledge of Cucumber or another BDD framework.
  • Good understanding of:
    • HTTP
    • REST APIs
    • Postman (or equivalent API tools)
  • Experience creating and maintaining:
    • Test plans
    • Test cases
    • Defect reports
  • Daily experience with Git.
  • Confidence working with and extending existing automation frameworks.
  • English sufficient for day-to-day communication with an international team.

Nice to Have

  • Commercial experience with Cucumber/Gherkin.
  • AWS or another public cloud platform.
  • Docker.
  • Basic SQL.
  • Chrome DevTools.
  • Load or performance testing.
  • Experience with high-load products in domains such as:
    • Streaming
    • Payments
    • Subscription platforms
  • Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) in test automation workflows.
