Trainee Automation Test Engineer

Development & maintenance of automated testing framework for TV streaming applications for an international broadcasting company headquartered in New York, US. The company owns several television channels/brands and has developed state-of-the-art TV streaming applications for Android TV, Android Mobile, iOS, tvOS, Roku, Web, Fire TV platforms, and wants to set up a solid automation framework to test these applications.

Requirements

Must have:

• Good knowledge of Python and OOP principles and some experience with IDE/Dev tools
• Experience with Git
• Fundamental knowledge of HTML and Web Dev tools
• Understanding of Software Testing theory (test design, test types)
• General knowledge of operating systems, APIs, network protocols, and databases
• Good level of English and readiness to communicate on a day-to-day basis
• Eagerness to learn automation testing
• Strong requirement analysis and problem-solving skills

Good to have:

• Fundamental knowledge of tools like Pytest, Jest
• Fundamental knowledge of Selenium and/or Appium

Job responsibilities

• Working with the automated test framework (written in Python) and extending it:
• Developing automation tests for TV streaming applications for Roku, tvOS, iOS, Android Mobile, Android TV, Web, and other platforms
• Fixing broken tests
• Writing automated UX/UI and Functional tests
• Writing API tests for GraphQL and REST endpoints
• Monitoring automation run results and reporting them
